Police arrest reported murderer of physically challenged woman in Okene who absconded

The Nigeria Police Force, Kogi state command has arrested one Siyaka Mohammed, age 44 years, who reportedly stabbed his physically challenged girlfriend, Aisha Aminu, age 30 years old, to death over a misunderstanding and fled after committing the offense.

The incident occurred on 8th of June at Obehira, Okene LGA, Kogi State. According to an eyewitness report, the suspected murderer visited the deceased shop a few minutes before 6a.m on that day, dragged her from the inner chamber, repeatedly stabbed her until she succumbed to death following the injuries she sustained from her injuries.

It was alleged that the deceased and her boyfriend had an ongoing dispute that had been previously reported to both the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and the community head, but the issue remained unresolved.

Siyaka said to also hail from Obehira in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi state, since absconded from Okene and was declared wanted.

The state Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, confirmed the arrest.

Ayah said that the command was since on the trail of the suspect with the view to arresting him for prosecution.

The Kogi State Executive Secretary, Office For Disability, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael has commended the Police and DSS for arresting man who alledgedly stabbed and killed physically challenged woman to death.

Recalled that Barr. Dare had condemned in strong terms the killing of Aisha Aminu, a physically challenged 30 year old woman by one Siyaka Mohammed.

Barr. Dare in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja, called on the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command to transfer the case to the homicide section of the State CID, where the legal officer would take up the brief for commencement of prosecution.

According to Barr. Dare the transfer of the case would enable the legal department of KOSODA take up the case with a view of prosecuting the suspect.

Barr. Dare described the action as barbaric, inhumane and man’s inhumanity against his fellow man, said no stone would be left unturned in prosecuting the suspect, assured that KOSODA will pursue the matter to it logical conclusion.
