CUSTECH Osara: Rector NKFI lauds Gov. Ododo over prompt response, rescue of kidnapped students

The Rector, Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute, Lokoja has lauded the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo over what he described as prompt response which led to the safe rescue and return of the kidnapped students of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara.

 

 

The Rector made this commendation while reacting to the news of the safe return of an unspecified number of students from CUSTECH who were abducted on Thursday 9th, May 2024 after gunmen stormed the premises of the university. The Rector also hailed the efforts of the security operatives whose combined efforts and bravery alongside other stakeholders yielded a prompt positive outcome.

 

 

He mentioned that Governor Ododo’s line of action including an immediate on the spot assessment of the situation and his strong directives to security operative as well as provision of more security personnels to schools were strong indications of his resilience to ensure that the state remained safe for all and sundry.

 

The Rector mentioned that while the governor was able to immediately pinpoint internal conspiracy as a possible cause of the ugly incident, he noted that such intelligence and deliberate action were testament’s of the governor’s preparedness to consolidate effectively on the security gains of the immediate past administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

 

The Rector said “while we thank Almighty God for the safe return of our dear students, we are also very confident in the security architecture of the government of Kogi state which has proven to be very reliable and effective. We also sincerely congratulate the parents and the management of the school over the safe return of their wards”

 

He urged individuals to remain watchful and highly security conscious noting that security remained the collective responsibility of the citizenry while tasking that suspicious movements must be promptly reported to respective security agencies without delays.
