Where there is a will, there is a way and whatever has a beginning has an end. Today 24 th May, 2017, the Kogi state screening committee finally submitted its report to the Executive Governor of Kogi state.

Before now, Kogi was a state that cannot ascertain its assets and liabilities due to absence of available data from previous administration. After a meticulously carried out exercise, today, a major surgical operation has been successfully carried out on Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello stated.

While receiving the report, Alhaji Yahaya Bello reiterated that, its administration shall temper justice with mercy, but civil servants who are guilty of various fraudulent acts shall be punished. If they don’t take us to court, we shall take them to court. With the governor’s statement above, the Labor Unions present responded with a resounding solidarity song.

While speaking in response to the report submission, Comrade Onu Edoka, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) stated:

Your Excellency, permit me to say that this screening exercise this time around has taken different dimension. Your Excellency, I am the happiest person today that this screening has come to an end. This is the only area your government has attracted large public criticism, you are doing well in security, road construction and other areas, but your Excellency, KOGI civil servants have suffered for long time in the course of this screening. I want to hear from you today that all those who have been cleared are immediately backed up by payments

With the just concluded screening and Screening Appeal Committee Submitting Its Report to the Governor, a new Kogi civil service is born that will make all Kogites proud.

The Breakdown of the report would be made available to the public within the shortest period.

Present are the presentation are Secretary to the Kogi State Government (SSG), Mrs Folashade Arike, the Chief of Staff to the governor (COS) Hon. Edward David Onoja, Members of the screening committee, Labour unions and other stakeholders.
