Ahead of the 2019 forthcoming presidential election, former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari will run for re-election.
Kalu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) disclosed this when he appeared as guest on Politics Today, a current affairs programme aired on Channels Television.
His words: “Buhari has to run. He is the President of Nigeria and he is healthy. He would be running with other candidates who want to run in APC. Whether he has made up his mind or not is immaterial. President Buhari would run for re-election.”
On the issue Atiku adduced to his exit from APC, he said: “Well that might be his personal opinion. I didn’t see him when they agreed on the things he said. All I know is that in terms of APC, President Buhari is gradually drawing the map in terms of how to make people obey the laws; to make people responsible to the decision they make in their offices and that is very important. Since I came to APC they have not conducted any primaries. The only one they conducted was Anambra and it was free and fair.”
