UPDATE: Nigerian Army May Have killed Shi’ite Leader’s Wife, Son

New information from Sahara Reporters has shown that death toll from the attack o Shi’ites has risen to about 100.

Nigerian troops had reportedly killed a wife and son of the Nigeria Shi’ite leader, Sheik Ibraheem Zakzaky in an overnight raid that led to the death of about many people in Zaria, Kaduna state.

Sahara Reporters reports that a credible source in Zaria, who is involved collecting corpses in Gyallesu, Husainiyya Bakiyatullah and the Darur Rahma neighborhoods, made this confirmation early today.

 

 

 

The source informed that 69 dead bodies of mostly men, women and young members of the sect killed in the ongoing military operation against the sect were officially recorded today.

Ibrahim Musa, the president of the media forum of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria had in a statement released on Sunday, December 13, informed of twenty deaths.

Musa claimed that the military destroyed the forum’s headquarters as well as the residence of the Shi’ite leader. He said that the whereabouts of Sheik Zakzaky is still uncertain at the moment.
