The outgoing Commissioner for Information and Communication,and now redeployed to the Ministry of Transport in Plateau State ,Alh Mohammed Nazif has revealed plan to introduce mobile court in Jos and its environs to trial illegal tricycle riders .
This will help to reduce and control the crime committed by Tri-cycle riders in the state capital and operate within the layed down laws.
The commissioner for transport,ALH Mohammed Nazif spoke to Journalists during his taken over ceremony held at the ministry of transport on Wednesday,7th March,2018 at the Joseph Gwomwalk secretariat .
Nazif said government will organize an interface to dialogue with the leadership of tricycles owners to find solution to address the lingering problems of non compliance to tax payment.
According to him,when his name was relisted for reappointment as commissioner,Alh Mohammed Nazif said ,its wasn’t an easy task were I had to praying fervently to Allah never to allow me be re- appointed to the information communication ministry because of my past experience .
He ,however, stressed that is not easy to start with new ministry because it is one of the biggest ministry ,”Plateau state is sleeping on goldmines under the lucrative transport business which is highest revenue base especially rail,marine ,pipelines aeroplane and logistics.”
He explained the reasons for not hoping to continue as information and cmmunication commissioner inspite of the cordial working relationship with media organizations in the state
“I have been working under scarce resources in ministry of information which make me never wishes to go back to the same information again l prayed God to give me another ministry because I was eager but If I had resources to execute my job successfully that is one of the vibrant ministry due to the dwindling resources l could not achieve it ,he added.
There is no way I can claim to have enjoy cordial relationship with the huge numbers of journalists in the state which I could not give them advertorials ,features writing because of lack of resources ,Nazif maintained.
He commended the Plateau State media for their wonderful contribution ,adding that the perception he use to have on media practitioners was change immediately after knowing fully well that people says many kind of unpleasant things against journalists even with their huge sacrifices.
Mohammed Nazif noted that he has no regret working with them ,I could have achieve a lot with their help, who later understood my plight as the information commissioner .
He assured the revisiting the Tri-cycle problem,
We will take a look at some of the conditions that are very stringent which led to their suspension, because government has a vital role to play and citizens also have their role to play .
According to Mohammed Nazif , government will soon revisit animals license ,radio license and veterinary permit on dogs or else to embark apprehension those who allow their animals free movement without paying revenue to government.
