The Rector, Nigeria-Korea friendship Institute and Director-General, Williams Strategic Campaign Team for Ododo/Joel, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin has extended pleasant congratulations to the Kogi State Governor-elect and his Deputy, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and Hon. Joel Salifu attesting that their victory is a testament of a greater, progressive dawn in Kogi state.
He added that the people of the state, have spoken loudly in support of the continuity agenda of the All Progressive Congress giving room for the next administration to consolidate and make gain on the indelible achievements of the current, Alhaji Yahaya Bello leadership.
The Rector, made this known on Monday, in a letter following the announcement of the APC’s candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo and his running mate, Hon. Joel Salifu as the winner of the November 11, gubernatorial polls having polled 446,237 to defeat, closest challenger, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who scored 259,052 votes.
The Rector said ‘’on behalf of the Governing council, management, staff and students of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute and also on behalf of the Williams Strategic Campaign Team for Ododo Joel, we want to congratulate the Governor-elect, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo and Deputy governor-elect, Comrade Joel Salifu over this so much anticipated victory at the polls. Your victory and emergence is an historic reference in the history of Kogi political trajectory’’.
Williams Charles hinted that while the incumbent governor has in the last over seven years laid strong institutional and good governance foundation, the next government will have a good starting point and an already established template. He added that smooth transition enhances good governance and areas where the current government had excelled the next administration will do much better.
