Press Release by Confluence Youths For Peace and Development Initiative (CYPDI)

    NOVEMBER 3, 2017

Our position on the case of the murdered Labour leader in Kogi Central.

It is so sad that we woke up today to hear about the incidence of ugly killings yet again in Kogi Central of Mr. Abdulmumeen Yakubu, the Chairman, Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) with State Technical Education Board (STEB). He was reported to have been shot dead alongside a friend right in front of his house yesterday evening by unknown gunmen.

As sad and pathetic as the incident is, it is saddening that some persons are busy peddling unfounded rumors with the intent of blackmailing the government of the day, with prejudice and without proper investigation.

The New Direction government is not deterred in anyway by these unfounded allegations. They are lies, meant to to paint the New Direction government bad.

The New Direction government of Alh. Yahaya Bello is one bent on securing lives and properties of all Kogites .

The governor as we all know, has taken giant strides in checkmating the activities of criminals across the state, with Kogi Central as one of his major focal point due to it volatileness .

For all avoidance of doubt , the governor has fought insecurity to a standstill, while hudlooms have relocated out of Kogi state.

The peace of Kogi State is sacrosanct and topmost in the agenda of His Excellency, knowing fully well that peace is sine qua non to development. No amount of lies will be enough to distract the government. God is involved in the affairs of Kogi State and He will bring the greatness earmarked for the state through Alh. Yahaya Bello.

As humans with the fear of God and emotions we commiserate with the families of the deceased while praying that God will give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May God in His mercies shield the entire state from the hands of evil perpetrators.

    Comr. Jatto DanBello A.
    President CYPDI.
