Reacting to the PDP National Publicity secretary, kola Ologbondiyan’s outbursts on his official twitter handle, where he berated Governor Yahaya Bello and six other governors for visiting President Mohammadu Buhari on Friday.
The commissioners of Finance Kogi State, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru has advised Hon. Kola Ologbondiyan not to loose sleep or betray emotion just yet, as mass deflection would continue to hit the PDP in the coming months.
In his words “The more you criticize PMB/GYB, the more defection hit your party” Idris stated.
In Kabba, the traditional headquarters of Kogi West, over 1,700 members of the PDP defected to the APC.
Prior to the Kogi West defection, over 2, 500 PDP Members Defected to the APC in Kogi East, precisely at Dekina LGA, the larget LGA in Africa by landmass.
Leader of the defectors, former State Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Hassan Usman Ado, while speaking said as far as the over 2, 500 defectors were concerned, PDP in the state “does not exist. It is a dead party that is awaiting burial.”
Also from the state capital Lokoja, Kogi West, over 7,000 persons defected along with the Hon. Ndakwo Idris, who represents Lokoja II in the Kogi State House of Assembly, from PDP and other party to the APC.
Recently, defection Hit the PDP again in Kogi state at the the National Assembly, when Two members of the House of Representatives formerly in the People’s Democratic Party defected to the APC. Hon Yusuf Ahmed Tijani representing Okene- Ogori Federal Constituency and Hon Jisalo who represent AMAC/Bwari federal constituency
The wind of defection continued in other states of the federation.
It would be recalled that five Members of the Abia State House of Assembly has defected to the All Progressive Congress(APC) both the PDP and APGA.
Among them are, Rt Hon Martyns Azubuike former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and Member Representing Isialangwa North State Constituency.
Minority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly Hon Chibuzor Okogbuo who is Representing Bende South.
Hon Prince Ikedi Ezekwesiri Member Representing Umunneochi State Constituency.
Hon Theophilus Ugboaja Member Representing Ikwuano State Constituency and Member Representing Osisioma South State Constituency Hon Emeka Alozie.
Although it was gathered that Hon Emeka Alozie of Osisioma South State Constituency is still working to be guaranteed the Ticket of the APC in 2019.
More defection is expected to hit the PDP in coming months, due to the internal crisis rocking the part, which emanated from the alleged undemocratic convention generated in Abuja, where a list already prepared, many days before the convention was presented as the list of winners, after members where subjected to the rigors of voting.
