The deputy governor of Kano state Hafiz Abubakar, has resigned.
The former deputy governor is an ally of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor of the state who recently returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC)
His sudden resignation is reportedly linked to the planned commencement of impeachment process against him on Monday by 31 members of the state house of assembly.
