Imposition: Expect Negative, Boomeranging Effect In Kogi- Hon. Kabir Yusuf Warns

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party have been warned that the consequences of imposing candidates on the party in Kogi State would have negative and boomeranging effects.

Hon. Kabir Yusuf, a stalwart of the party in Kogi state gave the hints while addressing press men in Lokoja over the planned attempt to impose or give automatic tickets to some National Assembly Members from the State.

The PDP Stalwart particularly fingered the National Chairman of the party at his attempt to test the will of Kogi people, warned that the loss the party would experience if such actions are taken would be unimaginable.

The PDP member also called on the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, not to cross his bound at the planned imposition of candidates on the party in Kogi state, maintaining that this is not the time for such impunity.

While noting that all aspirants should be given a level playing field to take part in the party’s primaries, he urged the National leadership of the PDP that any attempt at imposing candidates on the party, would amount to pouring fuel on an existing flame.

Hon. Kabir lamented a situation in which the party having overcome it challenge occasioned by persons who left the party but now to choose to return, would now grant automatic ticket to such persons as another disaster waiting to happen if such action is taken by the National leadership of the PDP.

Hon. Kabir called for a level playing field for all aspirants without any undue interference by the National leadership of the party and that of the Senate as is been alleged, warned that such action would only go to portray the party as one that has not learnt it lesson, and impugn on the capacity of the National Leadership.

Hon. Kabir posit that the PDP may be heading for a total extinction in Kogi state if the planned action by the National leadership of the PDP scales through, called for a rethink before it is too late.
