Dino Melaye Files Suit Against INEC At Federal High Court

Unconfirmed report has it that Embattled Senator Dino Melaye has filed a suit against INEC two days after a petition to recall him was submitted to the electoral body.

Dino seeks for the determination on;

Whether by the provisions of section 68 & 69 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as altered, Dino Melaye Is entitled to a fair hearing before the process of his recall as envisaged by the provisions of section 69 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, can be triggered.

Whether the petition presented to INEC Is in compliance with the requirements of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as altered, same being heavily tainted with political malice, bad motive, personal vendetta and bad faith, which were initiated by top politicians in Kogi State, who would enormous powers over Dino’s senatorial constituents.

Whether by the provisions of sections 68 & 69 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as altered, Dino can be validly recalled when a petition presented to the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission was signed by fictitious and non-existing persons and other persons who do not belong to Dino Melaye’s senatorial constituency in accordance with the provisions of section 69 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as altered.
