The Rector, Nigeria -Korea Friendship Institute, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin has on behalf of Governing council, Academic Board, Management, Staff and students congratulated Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello over the conferment of the National Honours of the Commander Order of Niger (CON).
In a Press Statement signed on Sunday and made available to the press, the Rector described the honours as well deserving and a testament of Gov. Bello as a worthy national asset with greater role to play in the nearest future.
He said “Your Excellency, you have imprinted you name on the sand of National politics and you have placed Kogi state in the limelight of modern day politics and for that reason, your recognition is well deserved and highly commendable”
The Rector noted that governor Bello’s leadership acumen and trajectory in the last 7 years of his New Direction Administration has brought a great deal of difference in key areas of the state.
He pointed out that his government has added plausibly to areas of security which was in total shamble when he resumed 7 years ago, while key sectors like education, health, environment and infrastructural development have received massive facelift, hence his award and conferment was without mincing words.
He also said that, the governor came up with a governance template that allowed youths and women frontline participatory roles in a such way that has never been witnessed before in the state, adding that he United Kogi in key areas of ethnic, class and religious differences as against what had been the past experiences.
The Rector said these and many more were laudable giant step that the governor took to redirect the state back towards a New Direction, which added to many of his roles in the national political space necessitated the deserving recognition by the Federal Government.
While he congratulated the governor again over the conferment, he expressed confidence that such honour would further spur him into taking up greater roles in the interest of the state and the Nation.
