These names were included into the letter sent by the president to Bukola Saraki, Senate president. The two new judges are Hon Justice Ejembi Eko JCA and Hon. Justice Amina A. Augie JCA as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Their appointment was confirmed by 38 senators present at today’s seating. Only one senator voted against the nomination. The E-Voting system was for the first time used for voting on the confirmation of new Supreme Court Judges. On October 7, DSS operatives raided the residences of senior judges and arrested Justices Sylvester Ngwuta and John Okoro, both of the Supreme Court, as well as Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
