Lokoja Council Chairman, Dansebe Suspended by KGHA Over Funds Misappropriation

– Vice Chairman to resume office pending investigation

The Chairman Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Muhammed Dansabe Muhammed, has been suspended by the Kogi State House of Assembly over allegations of misappropriation of funds.

The House also directed the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Comfort Ife, to take charge of affairs at the Local Government Council pending the outcome of the investigation by the Ad-Hoc Committee of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The decision was contained in a resolution of the Kogi State House of Assembly, signed by The Clerk of the house, Alhaji Chogudo Ahmed, on 23rd March, 2023.

Part of the statement reads “The State House of Assembly in session at its plenary sitting of Thursday, 23 March, 2023 considered and deliberated on the allegation of misappropriation by the Chairman, Lokoja Local Government Council and the need to direct the Chairman to handover the office to the Vice Chairman pending the outcome of the investigation by the Ad-Hoc Committee of the Kogi State House of Assembly”.
