The immediate past Governor of plateau state, senator David Jonah Jang has promise to restructure the present structure of Nigeria to reflect true Federalism.
As he said after Fifty Eight (58)years of the existence of the entity called Nigeria, it will not be out of place for some sections of the country who may have been shortchange to agitate for restructuring to reflect true federalism.
Senator Jang jang made the promise at the People’s Democratic Party Secretariat along Bukuru Road in JOS , plateau state during the submition of his letter of intent at the PDP Secretariat to run for the position of President of Nigeria in 2019 general election.
He promised to hold the” bull” by the horns and succumb to the agitations of some sections of the country calling for restructuring in confined with rule of law.
“58th years of the existence of the entity called Nigeria ,I will say is not out of place for some groups who were no longer comfortable with the present arrangement ,so when I become the President of Nigeria ,I will be force to succumb to the agitations for the restructuring of Nigeria, seeking for the review of the architectural plan of the country to reflect true federalism “.
He said he is at the state Secretariat to inform the people of Plateau State, and all stakeholders of our great party,People’s Democratic party(PDP) and the good people of plateau state and by extension Nigeria to present myself to run for president of Nigeria in 2019.
He frowned at the decision of some members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders who are nursing the decision to limit the presidential contest to the candidates whose region has the highest registration of voters.
” i don’t think that decision is from all the stakeholders of our great party the (PDP) but an individual’s personal opinions which may not be binding on all of us,I want to point out that in North Central, we have millions of registered voters. “
He stressed that Central Nigeria region under which plateau falls,has paid her dues politically and otherwise as we had contributed in time past making other candidates from other part of the regions in Nigeria to become president.
” I think for equity and fairness, it would be good for other region or regions in Nigeria to support the candidature of the candidate from Central region and that candidate is me” he maintained.
Jang promised to make security of live and properties his priority when he become the President of Nigeria.
“The unity of Nigeria which our founding fathers fought for have been eroded ,the government under my watch,I will ensure that crimes and criminality is tackled head long”.
He also promised to fight the cancanworm that has eaten deep into the bone marrow of our society corruption, in line with the rule of law as the government shall periodically review laws that are no longer in tedium with current existing laws.
On agriculture, he promised to invest heavily on agric which is the mainstay of every developed countries,which will also help to reduce the problems of unemployment amongst our youths and help to reduce crimes and criminality he said.
As he said government shall continue to unveil the rest of his blue prints as we embark on campaign he said.
