How A Sex Worker Was Killed By Fake Prophet In Kogi – Amuda Dan Sulaiman

Kogi State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), William Ayah, has explained how Mercy Moses, a prostitute, was killed by three suspected ritualists in Adavi local government area of Kogi State

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Lokoja on Monday, the PPRO disclosed that the fake prophet, Pastor Olusegun Otaru, of the Voice of Canaan Temple C&S Aladura Church, Samuel Olusegun and Abdulmumini Yakubu were arrested at Ozuri ward in Adavi local government area for killing one Mercy Moses for ritual purposes.

According to him, the suspects picked the victim from Hollywood hotel and took her to Ozuri area where the gang raped the victim before killing her.

The PPRO added that the suspect who also raped her after the killing, cut her head, legs which the police have recovered from them, noting that the victim’s hand was burnt to ash which the suspect mixed with black soap for ritual use.

Ayah said the command would take them to court having completed investigations.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the fake prophet Olusegun Otaru revealed that Mercy Moses is the third person he had used for rituals, adding that poverty pushed him into such heinous act.

“I am 45 years old and father of eight children, poverty and the quest to make money easily led me to this. We killed Mercy for ritual so that we can share the money that comes out of it. In the past we visits cemetery to exhumed fresh corpses for ritual purposes” he said.

Also paraded are six armed robbers who killed Inspector Abdullahi at Ejule police outpost in Ofu local government area of Kogi state and carted away one AK 47 riffle belonging to the Nigeria police.

According to him “Last year November a police station in Ejule was attacked by suspected criminal elements where a policeman was killed and his AK 47 carted way.

“Through our investigation we are able to arrest some cultist in the town and one of them during interrogation confessed that he was among the criminals that attacked the police outpost at Ejule. This confessional statement led to the arrest of five other members including a vigilante who was among the gang”

Ayah who pointed out that the Command will never relent in its effort of curbing crime in the state, assured the people of the state adequate security of lives and property .

He however appealed to the public to always assist the police with useful information to enable the command discharged it’s duties creditably.
