APC Ward Congress: Gov. Bello’s aide lauds constituents for huge turnout

Hon Nda Aaron, the Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Yahaya Bello on Mobilisation, has commended the APC registrered members in Ward A, Lokoja, for coming out en masse to elect their ward leaders in spite the heavy down pour on Saturday.

Aaron told journalists at the venue of Ward A congress at Crowther Memorial College in Lokoja, that the registered members of APC in the ward defied the early morning rains and came out for the party’s congress, saying it was quite commendable.

According to Aaron, ward A has a total of 23 polling units with registered voters of 46, 000, adding that the figure had recently increased to about 50, 000 due to the recent continous voter’s registration exercise conducted by INEC.

He noted that the ward being cosmopolitan in nature and comprising people of various ethnic background, had witnessed lots of upheaval in the past, but his leadership had been able to foster unity and enduring peace among the people irrespective of their differences.

“The massive turnout of the people at the congress today is an outcome and a clear show that the people are more united and in one accord to support GYB and PMB in 2019 elections, as well as the upcoming By-election to replace the late Hon Buba Jubril at the House of Representatives.

“Though, it has been very challenging for a person to be presiding over a ward that is bigger than a local government, yet we have been able to keep the people together and won their hearts for total support of the New Direction Government.

“We, therefore appreciate all the delegates and all the people of ward A for their relentless support for GYB and PMB; we respect their choice of leaders they have elected to represent them in the party for the next four years.

“I commend the people of ward A for their resilience, courage and support in ensuring the success of the congress, our freedom has finally come”, Aaron said.

Aaron, who is also a political leader from ward A, congratulated the newly elected ward officers and advised them to be magnanimous in victory by carrying everybody along in leadership, so as to be more united to achieve their common goals.

He, therfore appealed to the people to collectively intensify their support for His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and President Muhammadu Buhari for continuity in 2019 general elections.

Aaron also commended His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello, for the confidence reposed in him and for giving him the privilege to serve his people in his best capacity.

Arch. Femi Oluyori, the elected chairman of the ward told newsmen that it was a peaceful congress in which candidates were sorted in a basketing process, adding that they have come together to have a voice vote to affirm the candidates.

“You can see the crowd, the congress was conducted peacefully, no fighting, no ill-feelings. To God be the glory. The people that emerged are accepted”, he said.
