A group, Kogi Central Advocate for Good Governance has enlisted its voice and support for Hon. Kekere Sanni Abdulkareem , member representing, Okehi Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, to contest for Senate in the coming elections, describing him as a square peg in square hole.
In a press statement released in Okene yesterday, the Coordinator of the group, Hon Abdulrahaman Hassan, said the call became necessary in view of Hon Kekere’s outstanding performance as member Kogi State House of Assembly, including his humility, accessibility, exemplary and effective representation he has given to the good people of Okehi Constituency.
Hon Abdulrahaman Hassan, a grassroots mobilizer and politician in Kogi Central, said the call became imperative especially at a time when truly experienced and tested representatives of the people are hard to come by.
“In view of his outstanding performance at the house of assembly, we wish to compel him to without further delay declare interest to contest for the senatorial seat Kogi Central in the 2019 elections” Hassan stated.
Hon. Kekere Sanni Abdulkareem is a legislature per excellence. He has redefined what it means to be a legislature with quality representation, which has brought about development to the people. He has the requisite experience and exposure to represent the good people of Kogi Central and in return, attract quality projects to the constituency.
Hon Abdulrahaman Hassan said most of the senators who have been representing them in the Senate lately lacked the political sagacity and capacity to carry them along, affirming that they only needed them when they sought re-election. You hardly have access to them, unlike Hon. Kekere who is accessible to all.
According to him, Kekere has demonstrated that he is a true leader and a true democrats with all his achievements in office and the group urged Kogi central leaders to support him come 2019 .
