A former Permanent Secretary on Security and Gubernatorial Aspirant under the People Democratic Party ,PDP, Barr. Timothy Parlong has urged citizens of middle belt to rise up and re-organize themselves and be on red alert .
Speaking to our correspondent on Thursday at Rwang street ,Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state ,Parlong condemns the spate of unprovoked attack on innocent civilians .
He said with what is happening, our villages and communities are no longer safe because they are hunted and butchered by yet to be unidentified group of person .
According to him, government must wake up and safeguard the lives of unprovoked people because human lives are sacred. He urged the Federal government to use all the technology to expose those behind the dastardly act .
Hon Parlong called on President Buhari to sit up and take charge of security apparatus by directing direct them to do their work.
He urge President Muhammadu Buhari to take a bold step and fish out the killer of Benue massacre ,we have seen enough bloodbath in this country.
Hon Timothy Parlong said that he feel more qualified to sustain the current insecurity bedevilling the country ,as he is inspired to lead Plateau people to the promised land .
According to him ,his wealth of experience as a career civil servant beginning with Chief Solomon Daushep Lar to Former Governor Jonah David Jang had exposed him to so many intrigue of good governance .
He said that the Benue attack left a lot to be desired as people continue to ask questions like are people killed because of cows?
Parlong express worry that the reprisal attacks have hidden agenda not yet made known to the public because cows killers should not lead to hatred and maiming of Benue communities. .
He condemned the killings completely and commended the Governor Samuel Ortom for standing to defend the security and lives of his people .
As chief security officer of Benue people ,Governor Ortom is helpless because there are strong forces behind the attacks, but we the people of middle belt applaude your courage
