With 2019 drawing closer and various interests in Lugard house becoming obvious, a lot of unease, suspicions and allegations with sordid illicit details of major actors within the PDP are already filling out.
Trouble started when the former Governor Ibrahim Idris scuttled the ambition of the very past governor of Kogi state, Capt Idris Wada from becoming the gubernatorial flag bearer of the PDP.
In what seem like a movie of some sort during the party’s congress in Lokoja Kogi State, the erstwhile governor accosted his predecessor, lambasting him of not having the fear of God, despite the huge sums of money he remitted to him from government, running to the sum of N4.5 Billion naira.
The money was part of the conditional obligation Capt Wada was to fulfil once in office, being the amount he (Ibrahim Idris) spent to bring him into office. The total sum which is N5 billion.
Capt Idris Wada got into the bad book of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris when he could not pay the balance of N500 m 8, haven paid N4.5 billion from the state allocation, due to the dwindling allocation to the state from the Federation Account.
In his words “I don’t want to remain silent any longer because Ibro has damaged my reputation in Kogi state and Nigeria in general,” he said.
The embattled Capt Idris Wada accused Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and his son Suleiman Idris for their “mischievous attempts” to cause disunity to the party, saying he is the leader of the PDP in Kogi state based on the party constitution, and not Ibrahim Idris, who he said lacks proper knowledge of Leadership and the fear of Almighty Allah.”
He said “Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is making efforts to impose my younger brother, Engr Musa Wada as gubernatorial candidate for the state in 2019. Governorship position in the state is not a family affair.” Moreover, the days of imposition is long over in the PDP
