Governor Bello’s: Farewell Message to 2017 Kogi Intending Muslim Pilgrims

Intending Muslim Pilgrims from Kogi State to this year’s Hajj have been urged to shun illicit act and be of good conduct in the Holy land.

Governor Yahaya Bello gave the advice today in his farewell message to the pilgrims at the Government House, Lokoja.

He enjoined the pilgrims to be obedient and keep to the rules and regulations guiding the Hajj exercise and be of assistance to one another while in the Holy land.

According to him, the exercise was not for the purpose of trade or fun fare but an opportunity for them to rejuvenate their spiritual well being and enjoined them to get the best out of the exercise by praying hard.

The Governor emphasised the need for unity of purpose as embedded in the New Direction government and appealed to them to refrain from any act capable of bringing the state and the country to disrepute.

Governor Bello solicited their prayers for the peace, stability and prosperity of the state and the country in general, as well as the sound health of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He expressed optimism that the exercise will be hitch free adding that the government had provided them with a token for their well being and wished them safety all through the exercise.

The Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Kabiru Badamasiuy represented by Malllam Suraju Abdullahi said 830 pilgrims would be performing this year’s Hajj and assured the Governor that they would live up to expectation.

Alhaji Badamasiuy expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for creating an enabling environment for the commission saying that the commission has never had it so good in time past and pledge for continuous support.

In a remark, the Acting Chairman of Kogi State Muslims Pilgrim Commission, Sheik Luqman Imam expressed gratitude to the Governor for his support towards the preparation for this year’s Hajj, describing the hitch in the earlier date of take off as a blessing in disguise and prayed Allah to grant them a successful Hajj operation.
