ENOUGH OF THE OPPROBRIOUS MEDIA SHENANIGANS

In the last couple of days I have read all manner of poorly written articles and opinions maligning His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello and trying desperately to cast aspersions on him.

The mudslinging are so vapid, their repetitions by those who imagined it have become very ludicrous on a good day and utterly repugnant to commonsense. For instance, His Excellency was said to have voted PDP in one breath and accused of having no PVC in the same. Hehehehe… The funniest of them all, that.

I have said it time and again: Mr James Faleke has the right to seek legal redress for whatever grievances he may feel or whatever he thinks he is entitled to. But having done that, I expect Mr Faleke to stop making subjudiced pronouncements either personally or by proxy.

In case Mr Faleke and his supporters have forgotten, following the declaration of the November 21 election inconclusive and the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, INEC requested the substitution of the governorship candidate who had died. Meanwhile, the deputy governorship candidate was alive and his name was already in INEC. Mr Faleke claimed to have withdrawn from the race. There are legal channels of expressing withdrawal from the race. Was that the route taken by Mr Faleke? Whatever his personal opinion may be, does our electoral law have provisions for independent candidates? If not, did APC sponsor Faleke as the governorship candidate at the death of Prince Abubakar Audu?

These are fundamental questions that require simple, non complex responses.

For a case before the Tribunal, Mr Faleke, if he so loves Kogi State, should let the Tribunal do its job and stop these desperate attempts at distracting GYB who is focused on moving Kogi ahead in the New Direction.

May I also remind Mr Faleke that the good people of Ikeja Federal Constituency he is supposed to be representing at the Federal House of Representatives still look up to him for positive representation?

Enough of the opprobrious media shenanigans.

His Excellency cannot be deterred. And having seen the strides he’s taken to (re)position Kogi for greatness, all true Kogites and Nigerians of good conscience are solidly behind the people’s governor.
