WHO IS DECEIVING WHO IN KOGI POLITICS: By Mohammed Umar

It is very saddening to read some comments from some articles sponsored by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, joining His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State to happenings in the state house of Assembly and calling the government illegal, especially the one on Vanguard Online Newspaper.

Hon. Faleke and Momoh Jimoh

It is very saddening to read some comments from some articles sponsored by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, joining His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State to happenings in the state house of Assembly and calling the government illegal, especially the one on Vanguard Online Newspaper. It is indeed appalling that a man of Hon Falekes’s status and class, with acquired educational qualifications, coupled with common and most especially, a man who wants to be governor of a state at all cost, should not be found to be making such unguarded and unfounded statements, while understanding the repercussions that comes with slamming another with label without evidences. However since he has decided to stoop low, he will get just exactly what he bargained for, exposing him to Kogites.

What can be more illegal than a Hon Faleke in his entirety? Everything about him is wrapped in controversy. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, a man relatively unknown in the  politics of Kogi State, having being a two time Local Government Chairman in Lagos and also representing Ikeja Federal constituency for the second time at the moment, have all his political affiliations, allegiance and structures in Lagos. Smuggled himself  into the deputy governorship position against the wish of the Okun people and the party, a big slap and disrespect to the people who have worked with our leader, Prince Abubakar Audu from inception and instead of showing gratitude for being allowed to reap where he has not sown, he is being ungrateful. What a shame!

Needless to say, there are many questions begging for answers from Hon. James Abiodun Faleke. Prince Abubakar Audu has contested elections and won on occasions, he has never complained of an ordinary headache, why is it that, it was when they brought a total stranger in person of Hon Falake that our leader Prince Abubakar Audu kicked the bucket? Why is Faleke spending so much just to clinch governorship the ticket? The amount he has so far sunk into Kogi governorship project can comfortably fund the state primary schools? Would anybody spend such huge amount and when he gets into office wont milk the coffers dry? recouping all he has spent pursuing the office? It is obvious that there is something more sinister and disturbing that the ordinary eyes and gullible minds can not pick but not for enlightened minds like us.

Sequel to the above, why was the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, our leader and our political generalissimo, who campaigned round, spent lot of funds and voted with his kinsmen rallying round about him died mysteriously and his death was shrouded in secrecy for over 14 hours by those who were supposed to protect him from harms way, all because of power? Why? Unfortunately, leaders from Kogi East who are supposed to ask salient questions about the death of their kinsman are not asking, for quest for power and personal enrichment, they sold their souls out, betraying the dead, thinking they are fighting his course. It is an open secret that barely 48 hours after the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, the the campaign and quest to take over the governorship position of Prince Abubakar Audu became Hon. Faleke’s priority, not waiting until after the mourning period is over, not respecting the dead! It is a big slap on the face of the Igala people. Death is an unavoidable end that will come when it will come, but the death of Prince Abubakar Audu is mysterious and not ordinary. Hon James Faleke and his cohort of desperados, who will stop at nothing to get the sit so as to turn Kogi state a Private Limited Company and a colony of Lagos, must tell the whole Igalas and Kogi State at large, what they know about the death of Prince Abubakar Audu.

Hon. James Faleke has displayed so much flagrant disrespect for constituted authority refusing to respect the decision of his political party, trading words with the party leadership in the media. He went ahead to form a parallel group of his own, causing disaffection within the party and also cornering State House of Assembly members to cause hostility and confusion in the Kogi State house of assembly so as to bring the state to a stand still, economically, socially and politically, seeing that the then speaker, Hon Momoh Jimoh, is a bird of the same feather, clueless, inefficient, self centered and inept.

The Kogi State House of Assembly under Hon Momoh Jimoh suffered tremendous setbacks, the house has no focus, confused and incapacitated. What is expected of a scalawag who came into power with the aide of 5 other scoundrel in an hotel room, using a carpenter hammer in the place of the gavel. To him, such illegal act was legal, despite the unlawful environment of an hotel where the impeachment took place, for his lust for power. It is an open secret that under the erstwhile Speaker, Hon. Momoh Jimoh the house has not been sitting for a long period of time; they are always on recess, adjournments, upon adjournments. Bills are not being passed, legislative duties are in comatose and abdicated, yet members are being paid their salaries and allowances without carrying out their statutory function, because one man is afraid of conveying the house for fear of loosing his seat, an act that is selfish and detrimental to the development of the state. It was based on this that the distinguished members rose to salvage the situation, which they did in the legal environment of the house. Therefore it would be very immoral for Hon James Faleke, who supports barbarism and nepotism to take a swipe on the person of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as having a hand in the House of Assembly imbroglio.

Conclusively, does Hon. James Faleke have the moral justification to call His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, a young man with vision, mission, focus and with a master blue print for Kogi state “illegal”? Does Faleke have plans for the state? I don’t think so. Show me a man without a plan and you will see a failure. Where was Faleke when His Excellency, was having consultations all around Kogi State? Where was Faleke when His Excellency was carrying out researches on the problems that are ravishing the state and their solutions? Where was he (Faleke) when His Excellency was burning the midnight oil over Kogi State? It is time he wakes up to reality that, he who God has lifted up, no man, can pull him down, not in this life or in the one to come.
