Alhaji Asiru Asiwaju Idris urge the people to take advantage of the ongoing voters registration excercise

Kogi State commissioner for finance and Chairman Kogi State economic Team, Alhaji Asiwaju Idris Asiru has enjoined the people of Yagba East and Kogi State in general particularly the youths to participate in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s continuous voters’ registration exercise.

The Honorable commissioner gave the charge on Saturday during the Isanlu day celebration in Yagba East local government of Kogi State.

He said the exercise which is billed to commence on April 10 would afford those who have just reached the age of 18 to register for permanent voter’s card.

He urged the youth to enlist as voters in large numbers, saying their vote will shape the state’s future.

He emphasized that the voter’s card is a tool that all citizens of 18 years and above must have.

Asiwaju said youths– who constitute the largest percentage of the Kogi State population – have the ability to determine the quality of leaders they will have.

“But without a voter’s card you cannot participate in choosing the leaders you want during an election time.” said Asiwaju.
