[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Kogi State Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has opened financial bid for the 2014 Conditional Grant Scheme Projects for both the Local Govt and State tracks.
The bid opening ceremony which took place in Lokoja was witnessed by the various contractors, representatives of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, top government functionaries and the media.
Speaking during the event, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Arch. Mumuni Okara said the jobs available in the projects will be awarded to contractors without any influence or inducement from any quarter.
Okara cautioned prospecting contractors who will be successful in the execution of the projects against poorly executed jobs as it would not be accepted by the office.
He said no contractor will be restricted to a particular bank or one source of material supply, noting that contractors are free to get their fund from any bank and their material from any point they may wish provided it will not affect the delivery of quality job.

He said result obtained from the tour of the SDGs facilities 21 local government areas of the state he assumed office as the Special Adviser to the governor on SDGs and took a tour of the SDGs facilities shows that the health status of the people across the state are in shambles.
“This are effects that is attributed to deteriorated state of the existing health facilities which does not come close to the ideal of the New Direction Agenda which is anchored on excellence, efficient operational system.”
“For those contractors that will be lucky to get the job, all I need from you is quality job delivery and for those that may not get this time around, the 2015 CGS/SDGs is underway and once you have good company profile, you may be lucky for the next one”.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the 2014 CGS/SDGs Implementation Committee and Commissioner for finance, Hon Idris Asiru urged the contractors to deliver jobs that could stand the test of time, noting that no government appointee or official will approach them for kickback or inducement.
He warned that government will not accept any job executed bellow standard.
Similarly, the representative of the SA on SDGs to the President Mr Adetutu, the representative of the Deputy Governor Hon Isah Omade, the commissioner for Budget and Planning Hon Oloruntoba Kehinde and the representative of the DG, BPP Mr Benjamin warn the contractors that it was not going to be business as usual, urging them to protect the names of their company by delivering quality jobs.
