Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the governor-elect of the Kogi state said the issue between him and James Faleke will be settled internally.
Speaking with newsmen, Bello said the power tussle between him and Faleke is a family which they will attend to internally, Vanguard reports.
According to him, when he wins the election and assumes office as governor, he will bridge the sectional gap in the state.
Faleke was the deputy governor candidate in the November 21 election which was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Bello became the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, after the party’s candidate in the election, Prince Abubakar Audu, passed away.
Bello’s selection polarised the Kogi state chapter of the APC, as the deputy governorship candidate in the election, James Faleke had insisted that he ought to replace Audu. According to him, INEC ought to declare him governor-elect.
Faleke, who was the running mate to the late Audu, rejected the deputy governorship slot ahead of the supplementary election, saying he could not accept the offer to be Bello’s running mate because he was already governor-elect.
