H.R.M Jacob Jang Buba the Gbong Gwom Jos has said there is no Clashes between herdsmen and Farmers, but an attack on farmers by the Herdsmen contrary to the believe by some gullible minded people.
Called on the government at all levels in the country ,local,state and federal government to stem the tide in order to avoid monumental Carnage.
The retired Custom boss and the chairman traditional council who is the Gwong Jos who had been in the forefront against Herdsmen attacks on farmers lately, handed down the advise today 11th May,2018 during this year celebration of Nzem Berom day 2018 which took place at the Jos Rwang-Pam township stadium in Jos Plateau State.
He decried the continued attacks on the farmers by these he described faceless Herdsmen without government at all levels doing little or nothing to stem the tide.
Jang Buba however stressed that there is looming danger of hunger and starvation in Plateau and the whole country in general where the activities of these agents of darkness , enemies of Nigeria and democracy continued unabated even now the farming seasons has set in.
The Royal Father appealed to those he described as negligible few to decease from causing mayhem and criminality in Berom Nation and Plateau State in general.
He pointed out some of the reasons for moral decadence
in the society to includes , the neglect of traditional institution which had relegated our traditional values and customs.As he added that even during the colonial era ,the traditional institution were inculcated into the colonial administration contrary to what is happening now.
He called on Governor Bako Lalong to look into the proposed issues of lands administration as he said Plateau State is not having the regional and Urban administration law which he stressed if nothing urgent is not done ,the crisis emanating from land related issue will persist.
His Majesty Jang Buba advised the communities that had been coexisting with the Berom people ,other tribes in Plateau State and advised them to respect the customs and traditions of their host.
In his speech the Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon.Simon Bako Lalong charged the state to cashed into the value chains in the agricultural sector which the State has keyed into, including the tractorization policy that has seen the government acquired 400 Tractors for farmers ,are available for all the citizens of the state to take advantage of.
Governor Simon Lalong represented by his Deputy Sonny Tyoden charged the Berom Nation to continue sustain the cultural dynamism that has evolved in the Nzem Berom Festival.
